Product Description
Introducing: THE SPORT SENSORS GOLF / BAT SWING SPEED RADAR - NEW
The Swing Speed Radar? is a small, inexpensive microwave Doppler radar velocity sensor that provides the swing speed and tempo rhythm for golfers of all ages and skill levels. It assists players in developing /optimizing their swing, and maintaining consistency, by measuring the SWING SPEED of the clubhead as it approaches the ball.

The Swing Speed Radar?, featuring simple one-button operation, provides unmatched utility in a single, affordable device. Clubhead speed is one of the significant characteristics of a golfer?s swing that must be optimized and controlled if the golfer is to consistently achieve his/her best ball-striking results. Expensive launch monitors costing thousands of dollars, primarily used by well-funded clubmakers, instructors, or pro golfers, generally include these two vital parameters in their measurement systems. However, less expensive devices for use by most instructors, clubmakers, and by the golfing public are limited in utility. Conventional swing speed meters can be inconsistent, unreliable, and complicated to use. Some even require attachments to the club that can change the club swing dynamics.

The Swing Speed Radar can also be used to measure BAT SPEED for BASEBALL and SOFTBALL training.

    Amazon.com Product Description
Optimize your golf or baseball swing to produce maximum distance and control with the Swing Speed Radar from Sports Sensors. The Swing Speed Radar is a small microwave Doppler radar velocity sensor that measures the swing speed of golfers and baseball/softball players. Most players know that increased swing speed corresponds to increased distance. However, over-swinging can produce poor results, as suggested by the advice, "It's not how hard you swing, but how well you swing." The Swing Speed Radar helps you improve both metrics by measuring your swing speed, determining the best speed for optimum performance, monitoring your swing consistency, and selecting the club or bat characteristics that best suit your swing type. Golfers can use the device to determine the optimum swing for distance, control, and accuracy, while baseball/softball players can work on honing their bat speed to create consistently solid contact. The Swing Speed Radar's real-time velocity feedback helps players and coaches measure improvements and troubleshoot swing mechanics.

To measure golf swing speed, merely position the Swing Speed Radar in a forward location about 8 to 10 inches directly away from the tee. In baseball or softball applications, meanwhile, you can hang the device on a batting cage, pop-up net, or fence, or mount it on a tripod about 5 feet in front of or behind the player while he or she swings in the air or hits off a tee. By locating the Swing Speed Radar at a height that corresponds to the plane of the bat swing, the bat speed is measured "out front" of the batter in the hitting zone, which is where contact with the ball produces the best results. Put another way, the device measure the speed of the barrel of the bat, not the tip. This makes the Swing Speed Radar a great tool for helping you select the optimum bat size and weight for your swing.

The radar device captures both golf and baseball swing speeds.
Powered by three AA batteries, the Swing Speed Radar is safe and accurate, with a transmission level that's well within FCC requirements and prescribed safety levels. The microprocessor-controlled electronics, meanwhile, calculate clubhead or bat speeds on an LCD display within a range of 20 to 200 miles per hour (or km per hour, if the user prefers). A valuable aid for players of all ages and skill levels, the Swing Speed Radar is a powerful tool for coaches and instructors everywhere.

I have had one for over a year now and it's been great. The kids love it and it creates a real interest in increasing their bat speed. Excellent tool to track improvement in bat speed over time. Also excellent tool to measure impact of heavier bats on bat speed.

Great product. As others have said, it performs exactly as advertised. I also believe it is very accurate as the swing speed readings are virtually identical to what I've seen for my swing on a Trackman launch monitor. I'm having a lot of fun with this in the backyard, hitting wiffle balls. It gives you instant, objective feedback on what type of adjustments increase swing speed. Five stars all the way.

Does exactly as it is advertised .Gives you your swing speed on a
consistent basis . Large display and adeqate battery life are also a plus . Works equally well for woods as well as irons .

A great tool for anyone wanting to increase his swing speed . I was able to increase mine fro 95 mph to over 110 mph and now am exploding those T shots .

5 out of 5 stars does what it says   February 23, 2010

I bought this product so that I would get away from swinging a club aimlessly in my living room.
Now I can see how the swing speed responds to changes in technique.
The readings are accurate (i also have an optishot golf simulator and I've compared the readings) an are displayed instantly.
Extremely portable too...fits in your golf bag.

I also plan to use it for measuring ball speed by placing it in the intended flight path about 3 feet from the tee. Cover it up with gladware and you can measure ball speed as well!

For those of you that want to get a consistent look at the swing speed for the variety of clubs you play - then this is it. Easy to use and stores great in the golf bag - recommend and one of my buddies has already purchased one himself.
